about me & Why One LIfe your life?
I always knew that I wanted to have my own business. The only problem was that I had no idea what kind of business I wanted to have.
In 2012 I left everything behind and backpacked an entire year in new zealand with 1000$ in my bank account. I wasn’t nervous, I also did not feel like I was being courageous. More than anything, I was sick of feeling bored, sad and I always felt like I was simply “ existing “ instead of living.
One of the most impactful person that I met through this first year of traveling was a man that had become paraplegic from a skydiving accident. He brought me sailing one day. Yep, even though he was in a wheelchair, it didn’t stop him from living the life of his dream. on his sailboat. He had a piece of cardboard in his boat written: “ONE LIFE.” on it.
Spending two days with him made me change the way I view life and from then,,, life started to get better.
I started to dream of sailing to one of the south pacific islands and meeting more people in marinas led me to finally hop on a sailboat that was heading to Fiji. I spent 3 months sailing around fiji before my one year return flight back home to canada. It only took me 4 months of being back home to want to travel again. I had ZERO idea how I was going to find someone that I could sail with and I had never sailed for more than a few hours at a time. But I set out my intention of having that experience, and with the right actions, it led me to meet christian, with whom I sailed 1200 miles across the south pacific ocean.
I then travelled to 25 countries in 8 years and jumped in the middle of the Atlantic ocean while sailing from spain to the Caribbean and worked as a private chef on yachts for 5 years.
I met my wonderful husband on the beach in florida in 2018. We had our first daughter in Canada in 2020 and moved back to florida in 2024 after our second daughter saylor was born. :)
I escaped the 9-5 in 2012 because it literally made me feel like I was simply existing. My days were the same, my evenings were the same, I spent all my nights watching netflix, bored and unmotivated or overeating. I decided to go big and completely get out of my comfort zone because I was desperate to live a different life. I wanted adventures and fun and be excited for the days ahead.!
In my travel I always loved meeting new people and families and seeing how they were living their life. there are so many different ways for people to live their life outside of what the standard 9-5 and I knew that I wanted that as well!
I hope to remind some of you to dream. I also hope to inspire you to take action on those dreams as many of them are achievable. I never in a million years thought that I would get outside of my comfort zone but it was the best decision that I could have ever taken. Taking risks can be scary but living a life that is less than what you envision for yourself is even scarier. So i encourage you to write down all your dreams and take action towards them, every single day.
You deserve to be happy & you deserve to life a fulfilling life and make all your dreams come true.!
